Our countries have many of their own issues that must be resolved, yes, but we still cannot blindly and numbly watch the inhumane treatment of the children, women, and men in Palestine.

Unity House, Sudan- Discussing Tribalism

Sudanese natural hair blogger Meem

bittahcontender:

Being inspired by the new wave of imagination in Sudan, our plan is to bring awareness to efforts geared towards the advancement of Sudan, and to create a unifying movement for Sudanese communities around the world. We were extremely moved by the work of TedxKhartoum, which has been a great platform for bringing together so many people and topics in one setting. Similarly, in looking at art, music, education, writing, technology, and many other forms of creativity, we wish to:

Have performances, presentations, and videos that:

  • Demonstrate a vision or hope for “moving forward” as a people
  • Highlight persons/groups inside or outside Sudan that are implementing ideas for self-betterment

Because we realize the importance of coming together in order to see Sudan’s rise, we would like to present this initiative to the VA, DC, and MD community, on the premise of re-kindling a love for our motherland and most importantly, cultivating positive attitudes towards Sudan.

Please help us by donating!  In order to make this a reality, we need the necessary funds for the venue and other booking costs of assembling the event. Please donate $1, $5, any amount is helpful! All donations will go directly into the event’s creation.
